Rules for using this website — including reference tools, local saves, community leaderboards, acceptable conduct, liability limits, and how we may change the service.

These terms of service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of favoritepokemon.net ("the site", "we", "our"). By visiting or using any feature — including reference browsers, stat compare, roster tools, random selector, or community leaderboards — you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site. Our privacy policy explains how we handle data; our disclaimer covers third-party Pokémon content.

Eligibility

Who may use the site

You must be able to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction to use the site. If you are under the age of majority, you may use the site only with permission from a parent or guardian who accepts these Terms on your behalf. The site is offered for personal, non-commercial exploration unless we provide written permission for another use.

Acceptable use

Prohibited conduct

You agree to use the site lawfully and respectfully. Without limiting other restrictions, you must not:

Attempt to disrupt, overload, scrape excessively, reverse engineer, or attack our infrastructure, APIs, or third-party data sources.
Upload, transmit, or encourage harmful, unlawful, harassing, or abusive content through any channel linked to the site.
Misrepresent affiliation with Nintendo, The Pokémon Company, GAME FREAK, Creatures Inc., or other rights holders.
Use automated means to manipulate community leaderboards, spam heart saves, or otherwise distort aggregated counts.
Remove copyright, trademark, or legal notices displayed on the site.

Enforcement

We may investigate suspected abuse and cooperate with law enforcement where required.

Accounts and local data

Browser storage responsibility

The site does not require a traditional account. Features such as saved lists, teams, and recent views rely on browser storage on your device. You are responsible for backups and for clearing data if you share a device. Optional anonymous session identifiers may sync leaderboard contributions as described in the privacy policy. We are not responsible for loss of local data caused by browser updates, clearing storage, or device changes.

Community leaderboards

Scope and limits

Leaderboards reflect aggregated interactions on this site only. They are provided for entertainment and community comparison, not as official popularity surveys. We may adjust, reset, or remove leaderboard data if we detect abuse, technical errors, or legal requirements.

License to display aggregates

You grant us a non-exclusive license to use anonymous aggregate counts derived from legitimate save events to display charts and ordered lists.

Intellectual property

Site-owned content

Site layout, original text, tool interfaces, and branding we create are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

Third-party materials

Pokémon names, characters, sprites, and game data belong to their respective owners. Your use of the site does not grant ownership of third-party materials. See the disclaimer for trademark notices.

Third-party content and links

External sources

Reference data may be sourced from PokeAPI and other public repositories. External links may appear in guides or data panels. We do not control third-party sites and are not responsible for their content, availability, or policies.

Service availability and changes

No uptime guarantee

We provide the site on an "as is" and "as available" basis. Features, APIs, URLs, and content may change, pause, or be removed without notice. We may perform maintenance that temporarily limits access. We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, error-free stats, or compatibility with every browser or device.

Disclaimer of warranties

No implied warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Game data may contain errors or become outdated. Do not rely on the site as the sole source for competitive, trading, or purchasing decisions.

Limitation of liability

Damage caps

To the fullest extent permitted by law, favoritepokemon.net and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the site or reliance on displayed information. Our total liability for any claim relating to the site will not exceed the greater of (a) amounts you paid us in the twelve months before the claim (typically zero for free use) or (b) one hundred U.S. dollars.

Indemnification

Your obligations

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the site operators from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the site, violation of these Terms, or infringement of third-party rights, to the extent permitted by law.

Termination

Suspension and survival

We may suspend or block access if we believe you violated these Terms or pose a security risk. You may stop using the site at any time. Sections that by nature should survive (including limitations of liability, disclaimers, and governing law) will survive termination.

We may revise these terms of service when we add features or when legal requirements change. The "Last updated" date shows the current version. Material changes may be noted on the site. Continued use after updates constitutes acceptance where allowed by law.

Governing law

Jurisdiction and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence apply. Disputes should first be reported to favoritepokemon@hotmail.com so we can attempt informal resolution.
